Digital skills resources The resources on this page will help you make sure you have the digital skills necessary to be successful in your studies
Digital skills introduction
Digital capability or digital literacy (apprenticeship terminology) encompasses a huge array of skills, knowledge and practice that are increasingly important in our ever more digital society. You'll be expected to work with a range of digital tools/environments and develop your capacity to participate in activities and complete tasks relating to your studies. This will also feed into your workplace and confidence when managing tasks and data.
As part of your preparation, it is useful to reflect on what you already know because you can draw on and build this competence through your studies. Noticing what you can do and where you'd like to develop is a good starting point. We are committed to help and support you to reach your full potential and as you work with us we will help you to become more conscious of your digital capabilities - so you can articulate your knowhow, be that about staying safe online, presenting an online professional presence, connecting with healthcare communities or auditing, evaluating and producing digital notes and resources.
Once you are registered with our programme, you will get access to a wide range of support to help you begin the process of becoming digitally confident and capable, including:
- Wi-Fi Warriors and Student Technology Mentors to get you connected from day one
- Online help and information on how to use study facilities and services
- 24/7 Helpdesk available

This provides you with a personalised report identifying your level of confidence and skill in each of the elements, helping you pinpoint areas for developing to ensure you can shine in the digitally rich future.
